Accessible Technology Services has purchased a Brailler that can be used by anyone on campus.
A Brailler is a machine used to produce documents in Braille, a tactile writing system used by the blind and visually impaired. This new equipment will allow the University of Montana to continue to create equal access for everyone. The Wikipedia Braille page<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braille> has more information about the development, history and current forms of Braille for anyone who would like to learn more.
The Brailler can be used in the Accessible Technology Services office, or for a charge, they can braille documents for you.
If you are interested in using the Brailler or in finding out more about it please contact Accessible Technology Services in the Social Sciences Building or call 243-EITA.
