EITA (Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility) will be a common
topic this fall semester at the University of Montana.
The Fall focus is making existing EIT accessible, namely, web pages and
websites, and using the accessibility features of the learning management
system. Several campus departments and individuals provide support for
these changes: Marlene Zentz, UMOnline (243-6434); Janet Sedgley, Accessible
Technology Services (243-HELP) and several members of DSS.
Initial support opportunities include Shortcourses
(www.umt.edu/it/training), the accessibility website
(www.umt.edu/accessibility - with a link in the footer of most UM webpages)
and direct support are the first support opportunities available, but please
watch for additional educational and support activities. Call 243-EITA if
you have any questions or suggestions.
Of course, this listserv also becomes active at the start of the new school
and will continue with a post a week. Look forward to tips, support
options, celebrating successes and even a campus contest.
